I have finished my book dealing with Warren Co. VA Land Deeds 1836-1861 for $25.00, e-mail me for more information.
I have started my last big project abtracting records into book form from the original records of Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed & Wills.
In 1980 Amelia C. Gilbreath published the book "Shenandoah County VA Abstracts of Wills 1772-1850", which I have in my library. Unfortunately, her book only contains the information from the Wills in these estate books, missing all the other documents in this books. Like inventory, estate division, gifts, etc.....So if you have this book it has only a very small part of the information found in the will books. Not a lot of the information found in the wills abtracted in this book.
I am looking for information in connection with my various families that lived in this area of VA.
Also will be posting implied marriages between various surname, that I do not see listed in John Vogt's Marriage Book 1772-1850. Also very interested in showing the time and other locations people removing from this county.
My first book will cover Book AA through HH 1820 to 1830. I hope to find information dealing with my Shipp, Bridges, McKay, Jenkins, Richards and others.
Will also be looking for the names of slaves owned by the above families.
If others have surnames they need information, they should post that information.
..............................................................
Found Book AA,238 dated 11 Sep 1820 probated 11 Sep 1820
Thomas Little living in Cocke Co. TN sold to Sarah DAVIDSON (widow of Josiah Davidson) his 1/5 part of a tract containing 68a with all its appurtenances, situated in Shenandoah Co. VA adjoining the heirs of David Funkhouser,
Said Thomas Little was the half-brother of said Josiah Davidson.
John Vogt's married book has the marriage listed between Josiah Davidson & Sarah BORDEN on 6th Apr 1803. Will not found in Gilbreath's book, he could have died without a will and his estate divided by laws of VA.
I would assume that said Thomas & Josiah's mother married Mr. Little & Mr. Davidson, Vogt's book does not seem to have those marriages listed. The other heirs of said Josiah Davidson not listed. They will perhaps turn up in latter deeds.

Book AA page 259 dated 25 Sep 1820, probated 25 Sep 1820, John FANSLER & his wife Susanna living in Pike Co. OH, sold to Henry Holler of Shenandoah Co. VA, his 1/6 portion of the estate of Frederick Fansler, not conveyed the dower rights held by Barbara Serbie (late widow of said Frederick Co. VA).
Gilbreath has will abtraction of Frederick Fansler will 8 Oct 1804, mentions wife Barbara, does not name his children.
So I would assume he had six children, one being John, perhaps the others will turn up.

Found Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed Book AA, 431, 433,434,435,436 & 437 all filed by Polly JAGO to sell her properties in Shenandoah Co. VA, to Jacob Ott, Michael Effinger, George Fetzer Jr., Catherine Anderson & Christian Miller Sr.
Stated that she was living in territory of Howard Co. MO, appointed John Gaw as her attorney to sell all her rights to properties which fell to her as the only child of Abraham Jago & Susannah (now dec'd), said Susannah was the daughter of Jeremiah KEFFER.
She was selling her one undivided 1/7 of several lots lying in the town of Woodstock which once held by Jeremiah Keffer (his widow alive as of 1821)
All probated 24 Feb 1821.
In John Vogt's book has the marriage given as: John Tagoe & Susan Keffer, daughter of Jeremiah on 19th Apr 1794.
A researcher has posted in the L.D.S. computer the surname as JAGOE, Abraham birth place given as Ireland. She doesn't give the parentage of Susannah as daughter of Jeremiah Keffer.
Gilbreath's will book does not have information about Jeremiah Keffer. Most likely he died without a will and additional information will be found in the will books or other land deeds. Since Susannah was entitled to 1/7 share of his estate I would assume six other heirs.

Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed Book AA,100, dated 13 May 1820, probated 13 May 1820, two couples selling to John Bushong their shares of a tract containing 212a once the property of Christopher Crizer,
1. the first couple Wm. Basserman & his wife Susanna purchased their 1/4 share from Jacob KELLER & his wife (not named). Perhaps in the earlier deeds will shed more light upon the other heirs of said C. Crizer
2. Christian SHIPE & his wife Anna, stated Anna was one of the children of said Christopher Crizer. Shipe is a different family than my Ship/Shipp family.
The estate papers of said C. Crizer not found in Gilbeath book, so I would assume he died without a will. None of the above marriages listed in Vogt's marriage book.

Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deeds Book AA,528 dated 23 Apr 1821, probated 7 May 1821, two of the children selling their shares of the real estate of John Artz Sr.
1. Barbara at that date wife of John B. Snyder
2. Elizabeth CAPP
named as two of the children of said John Artz sold to
3. John Artz also a son of said John Artz
The tract containing 160a and second tract 50a, whereon said John Artz died near The North River in Shenandoah Co. VA, not conveyed the dower rights of Elizabeth Artz.
Above two marriages not found in Vogt's marriage book.
Gilbreath has said John's children as: John, Jacob, Anna Elizabeth Capp & Mary, wife mentioned not named.

Missed an important point in the last entry, said couples were selling their two undivided 1/7 portion of the said two tracts.
Missing four names of the other children, should be alived at that time. I would think at the time of John Artz's will dated 24 Jun 1816 proved 8 Oct 1816 all should have been named in his will.
Gilbreath does not have Barbara Snyder included in her book, so seven children:
1. Barbara Snyder
2. Elizabeth Capp given as Anna Elizabeth Capp in Gilbreath,
3. John Capp
names from deed
4. Jacob
5. Mary
6.
7.
Missing two names, or perhaps Anna & Elizabeth two different persons, so missing one name.
According to Gilbreath's book the family were Germans

3. John Artz not John Capp
