Warren Co. VA Land Deed Book F,237, dated 13 Apr 1856, probated 16 Jun 1856, couple B. Russell BARBEE & Mary E. OWENS both of the City of Baltimore, MD agree that slaves she owned: Maria (20 years), Virgil (9 years) & Frank (8 years) that said slaves shall remain under her control.
I do not know if the groom was related to Wm. Randolph Barbee who married Mary Jane MCKAY found on page 65 of my McKay History.
I can't seem to find the couple abtracted on line census for 1850 or 1860. I also check slave schedule of 1850 no hits.
