Clarke Co. VA Land Deed Book A dated 26 Mar 1838

Franklin J. (James) Kerfoot (son of John & Lydia (Sowers Kerfoot) owner of the farm "Llewellyn" granted to H. (Hamilton) Washington the right to bury his family member at the grave yard on his (F.J. Kerfoot) farm named Llewelly. The father (not named) also buried in family grave yard surrounded by fence.

I think the father of said Hamilton Washington was Warner.

Said F.J. Kerfoot according to H.B. McKay's note buried on his farm "Llewellyn" I do not see included in the Clarke Co. VA Cemetery book by Don & Mary Royston.

Found in the book by Robert R. Kearfott "Kerfoot,Kearfott" has a drawing of the said house on page 56. The property was purchased by said F.J. Kerfoot's father as a wedding gift.

Near Berryville, VA this estate was once owned by Fielding Lewis, brother-in-law of Gen. George Washington.

Franklin James Kerfoot can be found on Clarke Co. VA census: 1850,1860,1870 & 1880.
