It's now official. Yahoo! has closed it's Geocities operations. Because our website is paid for we are still able to see it. However, I am now beginning the process of moving it over to the Yahoo! business account. This will mean that when you visit the pages they will reflect the domain name of our website www.robertmackayclan.com rather than the Geocities address you might have been familiar with www.geocities.com/mckyrbnsn and each page and section will descend from that.

I've been told that once I migrate the site over that Yahoo! will redirect each page over to it's new location. I have to change all of the base urls to match so that they will all work properly in the new location instead of redirecting everyone back to the Geocities page.

Wish me luck!!

I finally was able to make the transfer. It didn't happen the way I originally wanted to because of a problem with how the Upgrade feature worked regarding our domain name, but I think in the long run I saved the website some money.

The cost I have for running the website and forum together is $189.30 annually with $119.40 going to website maintenence and $69.90 going to the Message Boards.

If you would like to help with the cost of running the website and message boards please send a donation made out to 'The Robert Mackay Clan' and mail it to me at:

For the time being the website exists in two locations with the Geocities site still up. The majority of the pages on the new server will still redirect to their Geocities counterparts but that will change once I've updated them with their new Base URLs redirecting the links to their new locations.

Henceforth, there are no broken links as each page is virtually identical to it's counterpart at Geocities.

I have just finished updating all the links on the website. They all now reflect the URLs under our domain name and do not refer back to the old Geocities pages. If you happen to come across any of the pages on Geocities please note that they are outdated.

Eventually I assume they will be deleted.

I also transferred the Steer and Varman genealogy records off of the Network 54 Realm pages to our domain name as well.
