John Vogt's marriage books has the marriage of:
Samuel Davis & Nancy Gilkeson 27 Dec 1808, bond by John Gilkeson
Frederick Co. VA Land Deed Book 32, 515 dated 11 Dec 1810, probated 4 Feb 1811 the above couple is selling to John Gilkeson, her portion of her late father's estate--Maj. John Gilkeson, her portion 24a for $480.
Her father's inventory filed 8 Jul 1795 (probate), mentioned slaves, but not named, so researches will not be able to use his slaves to trace his children.
I do not think said Samuel Davis is your direct line ? Yours from one of his sisters?
