I would like to know if Mary cheek was the daughter of George Cheek. He also was from the same area and had a daughter Mary or (Polly) george move to Dearborn County In and Mary moved down the river to Switzerland County.. I need this data to full my geneaolgy. If you have anything on George Cheek or the rest of his family I would appreciate it. I have data on some of mary and her children. I know she died from burns after catching her dress on fire where they lived at Markland Dam. Ik do know where some of them are buried. I would appreciate any thing you can give me. I am Georges 5th great grand daughter and I have been doing this for quite some time. I know the Cheek's were Quakers. I was trying find out about the marriages of thier children. My side is Page Cheek )George's son) and Nancy Long.

Thanks Kay Lamb

The only connection I know of with the Cheek family with McKay family, under the branch of the tree started by James MacKay Sr, his son James Jr. married Mary Cheek born 1755 VA died 1830 Switzerland Co. IN.

Joan S. Guilford "The Ancestry of Dr. Franklin B. McClung" has the father of the above Mary as Thomas Cheek. She doesn't give her source for the information. I think if you read early Shenandoah Co. VA records you might find out more.

The only address I have for her is for ordering her book. You might see if her e-mail is on line.

Kay,

I have a bunch of Cheek info. I am descended from Nancy Cheek, daughter of George Cheek and Leannah. Page Cheek was a brother of hers. A number of people have done work on the Page Cheek line.

Please email me and I can put you in touch with them and also share with you what I have. Or if someone can forward my email address to you so you can contact me.
