Frederick Co. VA Chancery Causes, reel #198 has the heirs of Stephen Grubbs division of his property on Crooked Run. Robert S. McKay in his own right (his first wife Virginia Grubbs) and children Wm.F. , Robert P. & Henry C. McKay. The other heir Eleanor who married Wm. D. Barlett. The widow Catherine given her dower portion.
This file as included a map of the tract divided. The statement in one of the documents that Stephen Grubbs had been buried near his dwelling house on his plantation. It looks like his widow Catherine got that portion of the tract.
The document stated that Robert P. McKay died at the age of 21 years. And died without issue with out a will recorded.

I read the map in the court record as having four different tracts of land designated "Dowery" consisting of 112 acres. I've checked both Frederick and Warren County records and I cannot find where Catherine disposed of her property. Her Will makes no mention of real estate. Any ideas how one could find who owns this property today?

I believe the property Wm. F. McKay sold COULD have been the same property he and his brothers received from the Grubbs estate. His two brother died without issue. He sold his portion on 12th Sep 1853 probated 26 Mar 1866 to Thomas B. McKay. "On the land which Wm. F. McKay now residue and adjoins R.S. McKay, Joshua A. McKay & others"
The portion given to W.D. Bartlett has a note that Zion Meeting House is present.

Thanks Ms Dee. I probably did not make my question clear enough. I would like to find out who acquired what of the four parcels designated "Dower" as shown in the plat in the Chancery Court case. Catherine's Will states "All the rest of my personal and real estate of what nature soever it may be not here before particularly disposed of I desire may be equally divided among my several legatees I give to them, their heirs executors, administrators and assigns forever."
