I have just found the missing documentation which proves that my grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp had Jett ancestry through his mother's side. He and husband of Frances Lehew Cabell (a Lehew cousin)---Joseph Miller Jett (also a McKay cousin) were 3rd cousins 2 generations removed their common ancesry was Francis Jett Jr.

I am missing the wife of his Francis Jett III, the other female surnames connected with his line: Peyton & Triplett (twice). The emigrate is given as Peter Jett born in Churchill, Oxfordshire, England. The records I have was that he married in London, England Mary Triplett.

My DNA profile has been matched with at least 40 different Jett researchers. I still do believe Daniel Pilcher had two wives, but I do descend from the second wife Matilda Jett, daughter of Francis Jett.

Anthony Payton (spelled as Paten) dated 23 Feb 1731 probated 29 May 1733 no wife mentioned, named seven children: Wm., Samuel, Sarah, Mary (two DNA samples), John, Anthony & Margaret (my line). My Margaret named as Margaret Jett and son-in-law Francis Jett.

I will be in future looking for more matches from his descends, but as of now I have confirmed my line from Anthony Payton to Margaret (Payton) Jett to Francis Jett to Francis Jett to Matilda (Jett) Pilcher second wife of Daniel.

There was another man Henry PEYTON who died Westmoreland Co. VA 1658, but I do not see him as being the ancestor of my line either spelled as Payton or Peyton.

It will be confusing trying to sort out if these are two different families or same group with different spellings of the name.

One researcher supplied on line the name of Anthony's wife as being Margaret Isabel MacLellan and I am sure the others have just copied one entry.

The surname MacLellan does not appear in the early Westmoreland Co. VA records but McCLANAHAN does and I have independent Autosomal matches with the last spelling of the name.

I have been able to match with my sample 21 Autosomal DNA matches from this couple. 12 through son Wm., 6 through son Francis & their daughter Elizabeth 3 samples.

My grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp had Triplett ancestry and share Triplett ancestry with some of the McKay descendants of Moses Mackay Sr. who intermarried with Compton into Triplett family.

My gr-gr-grandparents John Washington Ball & Mary Ella Edwards were cousin 15th cousin 7 times removed from Lord Thomas De Clifford & Joan Dacre.

John W. Ball has Charlesmagne line through Mary Hutchinson who married Francis Jett. This is the Dudley family found in the book by Buck & Beard's Vol III page 130 to 135.

Some researchers have taken the time to type in all these generations. I will stop with the emigrate.

Mary Ella Edwards has a double line of Richards which has double line of Baylor, which has a double line back to Charlesmagne.

So my grandfather Walter Eugene Shipp has at least three lines back into middle ages.

Since my granmother Daisy Love McKay has a Charlesmagne line back through Garwood family. She and her husband were 35th cousin 3 times removed from Herbert I Count of Vermandois & Bertha.

Found Ancesty DNA researcher "RM" does have the correct Jett line. We both descend from John Jett (1663-1716) & wife Elizabeth Triplett my line through son Francis and his through son John Jett (1695-1771) & wife Ann Elizabeth Wells

So we share Jett & Triplett. Both famlies intermarried with other of my various Frederick, Fauquier & Shenandoah Cos. VA families.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "tmcguir44" seeking the parentage of Artilisa Jett born 1814 TN wife of Samuel Crawford.

People who have filed trees with Ancestry do not have parentage.

Found on Ancestry DNA Project researcher "BCH" (Bonnie Wilson Family Tree) descend of Edward Dudley (1602 England-died VA) husband to Elizabeth Pritchard.

Her line Wm. Dudley (1621-1677) husband to Elizabeth Cary and my line through another son Richard who married Mary Sewell.

I am interested in her Cary ancestry to try to link up with my Mitchell & Hunt of King Wm. Co. VA.

She has one of my Taylor lines (Dr. Rowland Taylor).
