Could you look for any references to the above mentioned families and others that appear in the Ferguson family section of the website?

Also, can you check for any Kerfoot & Sowers listings in Fauquier County?

I know Daniel Sowers Kerfoot moved to Upperville, Va.

The above families also found in all my Frederick Co. VA books: births, deaths, marriages & wills. I will start working on land deeds late summer.

The main reason I want to check court records for Fauquier Co. VA, because I still have not documented my double Richards blood line. Also in one of the land deeds mentions a court case between Hume vs McKay. I hope this Hume is Sarah (McKay) Hume, who married Robert Hume, was the daughter of Robert McKay Jr. Her number #37 in my McKay book.

The muster roll for Fauquier Co. VA, I don't think any of my direct family members served from that County. My two ancestors: Thomas Buck McKay (you know about him) & John Washington Ball (he joined 4th Cav. out of Culpeper). Said J.W. Ball served with his brother & brother-in-law. Our George H. Sowers did not serve.

In the end I have no idea what I will really find.

I believe I have your Strother & Ferguson in my PAF, so I think I know who of those families you are looking for in the records.

"The Marshall Family" (relations of Chief Justice Marshall) are found in all the Fauquier Co. VA records. I believe my distant Rust cousin Shirly Starks might know more about the Marshall family. There was another group of Marshall living in Frederick Co. VA that were not related to the "famous group of Marshall"

Who in the Green family are you looking for in the records ? There were other groups of Green families living in Fauquier Co. VA, that would APPEAR not to be related to the partner of our Robert MacKay SR.--Robert Green (nephew of Wm. Duff).

This was the name of some people intermarried with the above families. The intermarriages occurred more than once and the Green name is sprinkled throughout those records. I'll have to go back and look and see where they are located.

The earliest Green connection started here with Mary Marshall marrying James Green.

Their descendants continued down and intermarried with other members of the Marshall, Ferguson & Strother families, kinda like Kerfoot did with Sowers.

I think this line of Moses Green you will want Frederick (part became Clarke) not Fauquier Co. VA.

I have some information about another Moses Green. He married into the Richards family of early Fredericksburg, VA. His wife was Fanny Richards born 28 Mar 1770, died 14 Aug 1841 White Sulphur Springs, Fauquier Co. VA. Said Moses and wife lived in Culpeper Co. VA for part of their lives. He was the son of John & Susanna (Blackwell) Green. Said John was the son of Robert Green & Elizabeth Dunn. He was the partner of our Robert MacKay Sr.

On Friday I will take a look at the above three films. Michael I am assuming you would like a complete listing of soldiers who fought during the Civil War for your Civil War Section. Usually these list just give us the names.

As soon as I find the Regiment Number for the ones who enlisted in Inf. or Cav. in Fauquier Co. VA, I can see if the public library as a history for that group. These books give additional information about each soldier.

I do not know what information I will find in the court records.

As a side note I will be over the next few months ordering film & books concerning Society of Friends in Massachusetts. I have no idea if that will be helpful or not, but I will not know unless I look.
