Robert S. McKay married third on 8 June 1853 to Jane Reddice (Carson) Wells. Her first husband Richard Wells' will filed in Frederick Co. VA by 1847. A copy of his will included in my second Frederick Co. VA Will Book. According to the notes of H.M. McKay said Richard & Jane Wells had six children. But according to his will and census records they had twelve children: Mary Eveline (married Lewis S. Emmett, listed in father's will & later Frederick Co. VA marriage bond), rest of these children listed on 1850 Frederick Co. VA with their mother: Martha, Simon Carson (could be Dr. Carson Wells), James Max, Jared W., Margaret H., Robert W., Arthur, Oscar, Lucy J., McKim H. & Betsey A. Wells.
Second will, Jared Wm. Carson dated 7 Aug 1851, 1 Sep 1851 probated, named as his daughter Martha Rebecca Carson. He was married to Mary Harriet MCKAY in Warren Co. VA 12 Sep 1837. If his daughter died without issue all his property gained from her mother (not named in the will) to go to his brother-in-law John W. MCKAY.
His property to be given to his sister Mrs. Jane R. WELLS (she would marry Robert S. McKay) and his brother James H. Carson.
So we have two connection with the McKay family, one Robert S. McKay I know where he fits into the tree, still working on Mary Harriet McKay and her brother John W. McKay.
