Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed Book BB,39, the five children of Lionel Branson Jr. convey over all their rights to one of his other child Catherine Allen (formerly Catherine Branson) dated 18 May 1821, probated 10 Sep 1821

Sellers:

1. Samuel Gardner & his wife Elizabeth (formerly E. Branson) of Frederick Co. VA, this was her second marriage, so married to him by date of deed.

2. Wm. Branson & his wife Ann

3. Jonathan Branson & his wife Mary Ann

4. Sarah Branson of Hardy Co. VA

5. Rebecca Allen (formerly Rebecca Branson) of Shenandoah Co. VA, she was married first to Robert Miller Allen, so still alive date of deed, married second to Hatch Dent Gardner

6. Catherine Allen (formerly C. Branson of Shenandoah Co. VA)

Whereas by the last will of Lionel Branson dated 25th Apr 1809 devised to child #6 204a in Shenandoah Co. VA sold to him by Joseph Young, whereas his will had only one witness not enough for the conveyance, however, all parties wish the transfer to take place

List the children of Lionel Branson Sr.: Amos, Lionel Jr. (mine line), Elizabeth, Mary & Hannah (second line)

Mary Branson remained single, found Shenandoah Co. VA Will Book P, page 39, settlement of her estate dated Mar 1827. Settlement list her debt due and monies due back to the estate. Filed by Isaac Miller, Samuel Hopewell & John Kendrick.

At her estate sale some of the buyers: James H. Lehew, Daniel Cloud, Isaac B. Cloud, Jacob Vannort, Eli Lehew & Elizabeth Cloud.

Found in the payment out of the estate legacies paid to Elizabeth Cloud $57.42, Mary Lehew $31.00 & Moses Lehew $41.50.

Said Elizabeth Cloud her sister, Mary Lehew & Moses Lehew relations of her sister Hannah Branson who married Moses Lehew.

Today on Ancestry Family Finder "Green Leaf" with DNA kit "herestweety1" researcher has the wrong link to our Branson Family. But I have found a new "long lost" Branson Line. Most of my information centers around VA and a few in NC.

1. Thomas Branson (1671-1744) m. Elizabeth Day. Name just Thomas no "L."
2. Lionel Branson (1728-1811) m. Rebecca Rogers I have a double line from this couple
3. Amos Branson (1750-1793) m. .............?
4. Amos Branson (1771-died before 1800 Henderson Co. KY census) m. Hannah Timmons
5. Liner Willis Branson (1790-1851) lived in Hopkins Co. KY (taken from Henderson) m. Sarah Timmons (cousin with mother?)

I will be linking all the census, marriage etc... that Ancestry as on line for this line down to the present. * by first name follows the line from my DNA match to the other kit.

Looks like I had the wrong birth & death dates for my great-great-grandfather Edwin L. Heflybower. The dates I had came from the Hoeffelbauer genealogy by Beth (Hefelbower) Seebach which was published back in the 1970s.

The birth year of "1843" was recorded and a death date of "August 13" was also recorded.

From some online records of Rockland Cemetery as well as a Civil War record I noticed the discrepancy in the dates. Both sources recorded 1845 as his birth year.

I decided that the best thing to do was to take a trip over to Rockland Cemetery and see for myself what was written on his tombstone and I saw where the correct dates were listed.

The record has been updated to record the dates as given on his tombstone.

I plan to go back to Rockland and copy down the inscriptions on the tombstones to update the list that was originally made back in the mid 1930s.

I also would like to do the same for Bethel. So far no one has posted a cemetery listing for Bethel but I am sure one was done many years ago.

One of Michael closer distant cousin is showing a DNA match with me on Ancestry Family Finder. Kit "Kym Heflybower" 1 segment 6.0 my link with her through Daniel Sowers and wife Catherine Crum (incorrect information about her on net) and Cary Mitchell and wife Frances Hunt (incorrect information about her on the net)

She is a descend of Edwin L. Heflybower and Aurelia R. Timberlake.
