I recently was looking through the back copies I have of our family newsletter that Wallace Shipp started in 1965 and during that time there were reports given on the Overall Family (or Historical) Association.
This is a group made up of the descendants of Lydia Leith and her husband Col. Abraham Overall. Lydia Leith is a descendant of Robert Mackay Sr.
Since these reports came from the issues put out during the mid 1960s and there appeared to have been no further reports after that I was wondering if they still hold annual reunions.
I'm thinking about putting up a page about them being that they form a branch of our family that holds (or held) annual gatherings.
I have one up on the John W. Dawes Family Association because it was founded by the husband of a McKay cousin. The organization itself traces back to an earlier ancestor not connected to our McKays.
This isn't the case with the Overalls who being made up of the descendants of Lydia and Abraham are direct descendants of Robert Mackay Sr.
The only Dawes who are direct descendants of Robert are the descendants of Richard M. (the founder) and Addie McKay Dawes. The rest of the Dawes family are not connected.
