Since at least a few days before Christmas, I've noticed that the Clan Mackay, USA website located at http://www.clanmackayusa.org/ has been absent. Whenever I click on their website link I receive a "The page cannot be found" message on my computer.

At first I attributed this to a server problem but it has been this way to this day and that's more than four days so I'm at a loss to understand why it is currently off-line.

In the meantime their forum which is also housed at Network54.com like ours can be reached by visiting this address.

Hopefully this problem with their website will be resolved soon.

I have placed a link to Clan Mackay, USA's forum on the "Message Board" index page of this website in the event anyone wishes to visit and post there.

I have been contacted by the current Webmaster of Clan Mackay Society, USA's website who has sent a message to the server which hosts their website but hasn't received a reply.

It looks as though the problem lies there.

I have every reason to believe that the website will soon be back on-line as they have a prominent presence on the internet and people make use of the website just the same as it is with ours here.

One change, however, what was once "temporary" has now become a permanent addition to the index page of our message boards.

I added a link to Clan Mackay, USA's forum as well as one to John Mackie's Clan Mackay website. These are the only other Clan Mackay related forums out there that are a part of actual Clan Mackay websites and not just ones that are multi-clan with surname discussion boards.

These links appear at the bottom within a table titled "Other related forums".

Hopefully this will make it easier for folks not descended from our Robert Mackay family to be able to jump over to those other forums and post any questions they may have about their ancestry there.

(Looks like it was temporary after all. After trying it out I decided to reverse the decision and keep our websites completely separate. Visitors will have to go through their respective sites to visit their forums.)

Ok, I've got a temporary "website" set up for Clan Mackay Society, USA until their real website is back.

They are in the process of trying to re-build all of their pages so hopefully everything will be back to normal very soon.
