Clarke Co. VA Book I page 46, dated 3 Jan 1867, John A. Sowers now of Havana, Cuba, son of Wm. Sowers, appointed Alfred Reid Jr. of New Orleans to demand, sue, collect etc....from his fathers's executors Province McCormick & Franklin J. Kerfoot.
The said John A. Sowers I have been told his name given as Alfred Sowers born 1832 and died Baltimore, MD 1897. Can't seem to find him on Maryland census.
Alfred Reid was his brother-in-law
His brother (my ancestor) George H. Sowers would also spend time in Cuba.
