As I type this, I'm getting ready to add the partial genealogy record for William Sowers.

I remember there being some question as to his wife's parentage. Something along the lines of her possibly being a descendant of Robert Mackay Sr. or not.

This will complete the partial genealogy records for the Sowers family.

I need to put up the info. I have on the various other families such as Brownley, Mitchell, Timberlake, Davis, & Kerfoot. I don't have anything to note on the Mason family (through the Timberlakes) and I'm not too sure to trust all the info. found in the old Hoefelbauer genealogy I have. There's another genealogy on the family that is up for sale that I haven't purchased yet but I suspect the information in it is different than the one I currently have which makes me question the earlier edition.

If you find any errors in the information for the partial genealogy records please let me know so I can correct it.

Ancestry has their new program linked with your Family Finder sample called "DNA CIRCLE BETA". The graphics are GREAT the problem is they are using incorrect information supplied to them on people Ancestry Tree which are linked to our DNA samples.

Added to the errors researchers place on their tree, I believe some clerks in Ancestry are making judgements about two different people being the same. This is the same problem once done by Ancestral File L.D.S.

I see another problem with the sample of Wm. Sowers, I think some one in their office took the computer action and linked two different Wm. Sowers together as our Wm. Sowers of Clarke Co. VA. For I do not see that our Sowers cousins supplied the information on line with Ancestry.

They have our Wm. Sowers as being married four times: Elizabeth Kerfoot (1770-1851), Sarah D. Sallie Brownley (1792-1858), Rhoda Reed (1800-1880) and the real wife Catherine Jenkins (1802-1862).

They have assigned to Wm. Sowers 25 children.

We know Wm. & Catherine (Jenkins) Sowers had: Daniel Harrison, Lucy Virginia, Wm. B.C., Martha A., Sarah Catherine, Mary Matilda d. 1832, Robert, John Albert, Amanda, George H., James Richard, Franklin Kerfoot and Matilda b. 1842.

Elizabeth Kerfoot married a cousin James Sowers, Sarah D. Sallie Brownley married a cousin Fielding Sowers and Rhoda Reed from Montgomery Co. VA married ANOTHER Wm. Sowers. This information found Reed Family Tree and Pearman Family Tree. But I do not see that they said their Wm. Sowers of Montgomery Co. VA was our Wm. Sowers of Clarke Co. VA. The mistake must have occurred in Ancestry Office.

Be aware the new L.D.S. "Relative Finder" great graphics but they are using the same old incorrect information once found Ancestral Trees. So people think are cousins to some famous person like George WASHINGTON, but are they really?. No one willing to question the source if the graphics are GREAT !!
