Ok, folks I have begun to update the partial genealogy records I have for the Robert Mackay family. These are being used to connect the various wills, documents & photographs I have displayed on this website in order to help the reader place the individuals mentioned within the family tree.
This will hopefully help others who are looking for information possibly find a connection.
I am using as my primary source, Dee Ann Buck's 1997 edition of Vol. 1 "A Tabulated Genealogy Of The Family of Robert & Ann (Brown) Mackay".
I have included some excerpts from that book on the opening page dealing with Robert Mackay Sr.'s record to illustrate the mystery we have of trying to find Robert Mackay's true origins and to help try and dispel the myths circulating on-line about our family's history.
These partial records are not intended to provide the reader with extensive biographical material or to trace out all of the descendants of the family. I do not have the on-line resources to do such a task. I am interested in collecting info. updating the various branches of the family myself.
If the reader wishes to read further biography about Robert Mackay Sr. or more extensive information on the different branches of the family descending from him he may either purchase one of Dee Ann's books or view a copy of it at their library if it is available through interlibrary loan.
