I received an e-mail telling me that I should delete a file called sulfnbk.exe because it was a virus and that the person sending me the e-mail had it in their system and it was being forwarded to everyone in their address book. It was also directed that I should pass on this e-mail to others in my address book to warn them about this "danger".

I did search my computer and sure enough there is a file there called sulfnbk.exe. However, I was suspicious after re-reading this e-mail so I thought I would do a little checking. I did a Google search and came up with these results:

The file "sulfnbk.exe" is a Windows program that helps in the recovery of long named files and is likely in your computer system because it was installed there when you installed your Windows program.

Please DO NOT DELETE "sulfnbk.exe" if you receive a message directing you to do so. This is simply a hoax.

Also, it would be wise to check out any kind of "virus warning" message before following the instructions.
