"The United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked".

These words from Pres. Roosevelt describing the attack on Pearl Harbor are repeated in the form of the terrorist attacks that took place on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

My condolences to the families and friends of the victims of this tragedy.

I hope that we will be able to catch those who are responsible for this attack on America and punish them for what they did.

In the words of President Bush "We will make no distinction between those who commit acts of terrorism and those who harbor them."

This was sent to me by e-mail. Thought it may be of interest and I didn't have time to forward it to people so I thought I'd post it here.

Friday Night at 7:00 p.m. step out your door, stop your car, or step out of
your establishment and light a candle. We will show the world that
Americans are strong and united together against terrorism. Please pass
this to everyone on your e-mail list. We need to reach everyone across the
United States quickly.

The message:
WE STAND UNITED -WE WILL NOT TOLERATE TERRORISM.

We need press to cover this - we need the world to see.

(Here is some info. on hoaxes and urban legends that have been circulating concerning the recent events of September 11, 2001. This came to me by way of the Whitacre Discussion Group.)

Some sites to check out include:

If you don't have time to check them out now, I have taken the
liberty to compile a list relating to our current crisis that you can
watch out for:

The Bin Laden/Gum Arabic Connection [RUMOR]
Various emails advocate a boycott of soft drinks and other products
containing gum Arabic because it allegedly puts money in the pockets
of terrorists.

The Klingerman Virus [HOAX]
Resurrected in this time of crisis and fear, this email hoax warns
against disease-contaminated sponges being delivered by mail in blue
envelopes marked "The Klingerman Foundation".

Candlelight Vigil to Be Photographed from Space [HOAX]
Several emails erroneously claim that an official nationwide vigil to
commemorate victims of the terrorist attacks will be held "tonight"
and photographed by satellite.

A Canadian's Tribute to Americans [HOAX]
Also circulating under the title "America: The Good Neighbor," this
text IS authentic but was originally written in 1973.

Nostradamus Predicted Terrorist Attack on World Trade Center [HOAX]
Believe it or not, even Nostradamus would NOT be able to compose this
prophetic verse a century AFTER his own death!

"The United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked".

These words from Pres. Roosevelt describing the attack on Pearl Harbor are repeated in the form of the terrorist attacks that took place on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

For any of you interested, here's a page that Electric Scotland set up as a tribute to the victims of this tragedy.
