Our son is getting married August 11 and both want to have a Scottish wedding.

I need help. What is the protocol of a wedding of this type. Do the Groomsmen wear McKay kilts? What should the bride wear? How about the mothers, the fathers. Especially if they refuse to wear a kilt?

I assume the decorations would incorporate Heather.

I've tried to find "how to" sites but have had no luck.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You could post this question on the Clan Mackay, USA forum. You can reach it at: http://www.clanmackayusa.org

I believe they deal with that sort of thing and someone else posted a similar query. Could be of help.

Congratulations to your son on his upcoming wedding.

Be sure to send all the details to our Newsletter editor, Wallace Shipp.

We would like to hear how all of this turns out.

Thank you Michael for the advice. If we pull this off I will be bragging for years. The brides parents are excited about it, too. Her Grandmother is planning in wearing an Irwin sash and I found out today that her mother traces back to the Hites and goes to their reunion in Va. every year. They also have a Mackey in their line which I have a feeling is a variation of McKay from Va.
Who would have thought a union in Central Illinois.

Thanks again,
Bibby
