State of VA Reel 2 which contains land deeds for Rockingham Co. VA 1802-1810 has four separate deeds showing together Enos McKay & George F. Strother selling land located on Linville Creek. Now we know that the McKays from Robert Sr.'s grant owned 1200a in this location. Zachariah McKay (Robert's son) sold some of this land to the Lincoln family.
My questions is how is George F. Strother co-owner with Enos McKay of this property ?
Since, you Michael have Strother ancestry I thought you might know.

This is the first I've heard of this.
I know that the name George F. Strother has ocurred in other instances through the Strother genealogy.

Making copies of Frederick Co. VA Marriage Bonds copied three bonds:
1. Alfred Perkins & Eliza Hollingsworth
2. Edward Mercer & Mary Dinah Steer. This one had an interesting note included with the bond.
3. John Mumma & Peggy Hass
Pretty sure these are your families, if you want these copies please e-mail or post your current street address.

I recall the first two from the Steer Genealogy. Alfred Perkins is read as Alfred Parkins but I'd imagine there was a lot of misspellings of that name back then. These two were cousins also.
The second one comes from another branch of the Steer family. As far as Edward Mercer goes I don't know if a relationship exists between him and Ruth Mercer who married Isaac Steer, ancestors of both myself and Mary Dinah.
As to the third one it could be related to my mother's side which some info. is presented in "Maverick's Corner" but I don't really know.
Yes, I would be interested in having copies of all three of them.
My mailing address is the same one you sent info. to the last time. If you don't have it just let me know and I'll send it to you.

The two films I viewed on Friday, Reel 108 & 109 has a lot of marriage bonds in connection with our families. I think you told me it is not possible to scan them on your site.

Well, I don't remember exactly what I said in regards to scanned documents but I do know that it depends on a few factors.
One of which is the quality of the copy. If it's fuzzy it won't scan too well. Also, the size of the thing plays a role into how much memory it occupies and consequently how long it takes to load in. I try to keep images rather small to conserve space and bandwidth.
Since I got a new book on HTML I'm going to try and improve the copies of the wills and other things I have displayed. Get rid of all of those invisible x's I have marking indentions.
Plus at the moment I'm interested in looking for some arrow images I plan to use to mark the previous and next page links I have on each webpage. So far I haven't found any.
