Alfred Almond McKay's parents were Jesse H. McKay & Lucy Mary Almond. Lucy's parents were Mann Almond who married in Shenandoah Co. VA 24 Oct 1817 to Barbara Lionbarger (sic) think the surname should be spelled Lionberger. Barbara's marriage bond has that her parents were David & Mary Lionbarger.
Shenandoah Co. VA Land Deed Book Y (1817-1818) prove two Almond men's marriages:
Wm. R. Almond had a wife named Susannah, formerly Roads, daughter of Joseph Roads. Shenandoah Co. VA does have a marriage bond for Wm. Almond & Susanna Roads on 11 May 1813.
Edmond Almond had a wife named Barbara, formerly Roads, daughter of Joseph Roads. Shenandoah Co. VA does have a marriage bond for Edward (sic) Almond & Barbara Roads on 24 Feb 1817, daughter of Magdalene.
I am not sure if Wm. R. & Edmund/Edward Almonds were brothers of Mann Almond or not.
