I have been asked this question by more than a few researchers, if I charge by the hour ? Answer NO. Will I go to original records and make copies of records ? Answer NO.
I do compile certain Virginia Counties original records in book form for births, marriages, land deeds, deaths & wills. I have done so to better compile my own family histories. Others can purchase my books to help in their own family histories.
For people who have purchased my books I do go out of my way to see what I can find concerning their various problems and particularly if there is a family connection with my lines. Now if I have copies of original records on file, I am not adversed to make copies.
Now if you want to hire a Professional Genealogist I do know of one person still taking on clients---
