Ronny
Thank you so much for all the time you have spent in answering my queries on McCarty D. ROY of Va. Nothing has turned up so far, but I keep looking for his parents, marriage record and burial spot.
Wiley S. Roy, I believe is connected to the same bunch of Roys as I believe my McCarty is. Wiley S. Roys parents were William Roy and Ann (Anny) Stinson. His grandfather was John Roy, one of three brothers. I have a lot of data on Roys that Mrs. Good did for me. Be glad to mail it to you if you give me your snail address.
Glad you sent me to this site -- McCarty is said to have come from Scotland.
McCarty's son, Thomas M. Roy was enlisted into civil wae by a Buck at Conrads store in Front Royal.
Keep me in mind if you happen to see some thing on my McCarty D. Roy.
Thank-you again - you must be a very busy lady with all of the help you give others.
Betty
Betty, I am researching the Roy Family of Shenandoah and Hampshire Counties from around 1775 to 1800. I am trying to see if my William Roy (b. about 1775 and married in 1801 in Greene Co, TN) is related to these Roys. Do you have any records or information on the three brothers that you mentioned going back through their parents? I have some information on the Thomas Roy who was in that area during the time frame above. Ronny Roy
