While compiling Fauquier Co. VA Land Deeds Book 43, found three land deeds which document the four children of John B. & Ann B. (Carter) Armistead. The two daughter's husbands were named.

Their two sons: Robert L. Armistead & John C. Armistead.

Their two daughter: Mary F. married to John B. Kerfoot & Louisa G. Taliaferro married to Charles of Caroline Co. VA.

These would have been the children who were alive as of 1843. Believe they had other children who must have died before this land division.

Found on page 24 of my Sowers book, the late Rev. Eugene Jackson had recorded in his notes that John B. Kerfoot had three wives and last two were sisters. Since he named them as Mary F. & Louisa, think he was mistaken thinking that said John B. Kerfoot had been married to Louisa, she was just his sister-in-law.

Armistead farm they were selling in Fauquier Co. VA was named "Oakley Tract".

Rev. Eugene also wrote that these Armistead were relations to Walker K. Armistead (Fort McHenry Battle Commander), he could be right about that statement. Walker K. Armistead did file his will in Fauquier Co. VA Will Book 20.

There are so many wills filed in Fauquier Co. VA dealing with the Carter family, I am not prepared to said if said Ann B. Carter was a descendant of Robert "King" Carter or not. This is what Rev. Eugene Jackson said.
