Most published documents do not list a complete family for Mary McKay, daughter of James McKay and Mary Cheek, and her husband Thomas Vaughn, who came to Indiana by 1809. A list of heirs is given in a Commissioner's deed dated 28 Sept. 1869 in Jefferson Co. Land formerly belonging to Thomas Vaughan was sold to Jesse Coleman as the result of a suit by Elizabeth and Richard Wilson against other Vaughns, all children or suspected children of Thomas and Mary.
1. William Vaughn b. 1804, probably unmarried. He owned a great deal of land near Brooksburg. He sold land to Floyd McKay.
2. John Vaughn b. 1812 Unm. per Louisa McKay Reed (daughter of Floyd McKay)
3. Lucinda Vaughn 18 Jan. 1815-17 Feb. 1893, buried Mt. Zion Cem. She m. 10 May 1838 in Switzerland Co., Floyd McKay, 1814-3 March 1882
4. Dearborn Vaughn 20 Feb. 1813-March 1866, buried Vaughn Cem. m. Lydia _ Lived 1860 Milton Twp. No children at that time. Louisa McKay Reed listed a Vern Vaughn who married a Lauderbaugh. Perhaps Dearborn was known as Born or Bern.
5. Thomas Vaughn b. 1817/18 Is he Thomas who m. 29 Oct. 1842 in Jefferson Co., Elizabeth Cooper.
6. George Vaughn b. 1819/20 m. Sarah b. 1829/30 lived 1860 Milton Twp. Sarah was a Daily? George married a Daily per Louisa McKay Reed. Have not found marriage in Indiana.
7. Samuel Vaughn 1822-1906, buried Morris Chapel Cem. He m. Martha __________.
