From Frederick Co. VA Land Deed Book 39, the family of

Mary Wickerham, widow of Wm., & his other heirs: Enoch, Catherine, Wm., Isaac, Jane Wickersham & Isaac Nerritt (or could be Nevitt) & his wife Rachel sold Wm.'s estate to James Steer in 1811, now noted by 31 oct 1816 said James Steer was living in Belmont Co. OH.

Same location where Jacob McKay Sr. died.

James is part of my Steer family. I have him in my records from the Steer Genealogy and I believe Hinshaw's Encyclopedia.

Nerritt should be Nevitt. This is the name of Catherine Steer's family. She married an Isaac Nevitt and had several children. They weren't covered in the original Steer Genealogy which focused primarily on the descendants of Joseph & Grace (Varman) (Edgerton) Steer.
