Frederick Co. VA Land Deeds Book 43 page 230

This couple appears on page 43 of my latest MacKay Book.

Date of deed 1 Jun 1819 Nathan Hains & his wife Rachel of Warren Co. OH sold land to Joseph Tuley for $1000 certain tract of land containing 114a in Frederick Co. VA, same land devised to him by his father Robert Haines.

I have his parents as Robert & Margaret (Smith) Haines, with his paternal line back to the same emigrate ancestor as we have.

I wonder if Joseph Tuley is connected to the family who built The Tuleyries in Clarke County, Va.

This house is not too far from Bethel Church. I toured through it during the Garden Week tour. This was the same tour that took people through Bethel and also Goshen. I gathered that the Tuley family wasn't in anyway connected to our Mackay/Sowers people. This house seemed to fare very well during the Civil War.

Our public library has a few Clarke Co. VA Historical Booklets, one has a rather long piece on the Turley family from MD.

I believe a connection with the Mitchell family.
