Have you seen the entry in David Dobson's book "The Original Scots Colonists of Early America" 1612-1783 page 56 (only Coats listed)


"Coats, William, b. 1692, laborer, Jacobite, res. Aberdeenshire, tr. 5 May 1747, fr. Liverpool to Leeward Islands, in Veteran, arr. Martinique Jun 1747."

You might check the L.D.S. computer site to see if other have abtracted Aberdeen, Scotland records. I did visit that location in 1969.

They have film to rent of the actual parish records in some case.

I would not trust their Computer Bank on line, but you might want to view the names of people working on that name.
