Found Family Tree DNA two researcher who have Stout in their family tree.

1. Leslie Dale Bradley administer by his daughter Berenda Castle. I have on #17 25.58 and my son Travis #17 18.88, Brandan did not pick this DNA. Bradley line from Mary Stout living in MO married to Robert Garrison. Others on Ancestry have this line back to Richard Stout of early NJ. Has surname Reynolds in her tree, but I do not know if the same group as mine.

2. Jean Selzer Bergeson. I have #10 9.01 and my son Brandan has #10 8.31. Travis did not pick any of this DNA. She has two Stout line: Zelphia Stout born 1793 Monmouth, NJ married Thomas Johnson and second line James Stout 1818 VA or NJ married in GA Mary Jane Wilcox. Others have not figured out either line, but I am sure they go back to Robert Stout of early NJ. One of the Founders of Middletown, Monmouth Co. NJ. Lots of material about this family in print and on line.

If I can get descends from Moses Sr.(the youngest son of Robert Mackay Sr.), to see if they are matching the above researchers, we might be able to determine if Anne Brown was the mother of all Robert Mackay's children.

At the moment I am having an issue with my linkage to Ancestry DNA Project. My computer system must be updated.

I am showing two pages of matches with researchers who are descend of Richard & Penelope Stout of early NJ. Reseacher "Jerry112" is a descend of said couple through Andrew Brown of early Freehold, Monmouth Co. NJ. But is also Cooksey distant cousin.

Y marker test have been done for this Stout family R-M269.

I have found two researchers who are also descend of Richard & Penelope Stout and I do not see others ways we are related.

What would be nice if others who know they are descends of Robert Mackay & Anne Brown. If they are also showing these two pages of matches.

I have four Stout matches on Family Tree DNA, but I have not figure out how I match with them.

We could finally figure out the ancestry of Ann Brown wife of Robert Mackay.
Found on Ancestry DNA Project I have 36 DNA matches with researchers who descend from Robert Stout of Early Monmouth Co. NJ. Some of them I share additional blood lines, so they are not as important to me to help find our link to said Robert Stout. We have a good working listing of their children:

1. John Stout m. Elizabeth Crawford, one Autosomal Match could be clean match

2. Alice Deliverance Stout m. John Throckmorton, plenty of researchers have placed her line in Ancestry Tree, but no DNA as of now.

3. Richard Stout m. Mary Seymour, one match but this researcher could share Zumwalt back in Germany

4. James Stout m. Elizabeth Truaz, six matches, but two researchers share Mangum or Melton.

5. Penelope Stout m. James Brown, this is the match with "Jerry112" I will be looking for additional matches with this couple. This is our best hope of finding our link.

6. Sarah Stout m. John Pike

7. Jonathan Stout m. Anna Bollen, have five matches, do not see other surnames in common.

8. David Stout m-1 Sarah Parker, m-2 Rebecca Ashton, have 9 matches, lots of them descend of Freegift Stout, one researcher shares my Taylor ancestry, Melton ancestry, Hampton ancestry, descend of my Daniel Sowers, so limits four out of the nine.

9. Benj. Stout m. Mary Leonard, two matches and I do not see other lines.

10. Peter Stout m. Mary Bullen, have two matches, one could be a distant Zumwalt and perhaps Edwards distant cousin.

Ancestry DNA does not have Chromosome Browser, so I can not tell how much DNA we share or if we share more than one blood line in common.

The surnames linked with the blood line of said "Jerry112" looking for Brown of early MA to NJ, Dormer of MA, Haverland of York, England, Stout, Bee & Kent/Van Prince.

Now, if can get some of my McKay cousin to see if they are sharing this Stout DNA, then I can pin down where this DNA is found on my chart.

I am missing maiden name of wives of my Noah Hampton & Andrew Hampton and they also lived in early Monmouth Co. NJ. I do have distant Hampton cousin, if they are showing these matches then perhaps that where this link will be found.

According to Family Tree DNA the "Family Finder" for Kenneth Leon McKay will be on file 1-2 weeks. This do the effort of Mary Meritt.

"We" have his brother's Y marker also on file.

Since this line is from Robert Sr. to Moses Sr., it will be interesting to see what matches he has in common with my Robert Sr. to Robert Jr.

Will he have the same Mackay of Canada, New Zealand, Scotland & Australia I am matching? And I will be looking at the above Stout matches.

His first name was Richard not Robert Stout.

Jean Bergeson & I would appear to have DNA link through Ambrose Dudley Sr. of early VA, her line through son Ambrose Jr. and mine through daughter Mary. This line ends up in my Jett family of Fauquier Co. VA.

Since, she is not showing DNA matches with descends of Robert Mackay, then her McCoy most likely another group.

She and the researcher Leslie Dale Bradley & Gary D. Bradley might share Stout ancestry, but my links with them from different families.

Leslie Dale Bradley, Gary D. Bradley, Christopher Ewbank & my first cousin James F. Hopgood share DNA material on the same location #17. So I am now guess my link is somewhere in the ancestry of my grandfather Roy D. Hopgood.

Found Ancestry DNA Project researcher "PP" (Stein/Laurence/Williams/Porter/Family) also descend of Penelope Stout who married James Brown (she spells it Bowne). So now I have found two descend from this Stout/Brown match.

However she is a known distant cousin from James Grover. This DNA link goes into the make of Thomas Buck Mckay.

So our MacKay/McKay who are not of my direct line, if they match with this researcher that would be helpful.

She also has Hunt, but they lived in New England.

Mary (Penelope?) Stout was married to Judge James "Bowne". Mary Stout was the daughter of Richard Stout and Penelope van Lent. The Bowne name is very common in Monmouth County NJ from a very early time. Though I am a "Brown", my connection to this line is John Harden who married Lydia "Bowne", great-grand-daughter of the Judge James Bowne who married in 1665 Mary Stout of Gravesend, Long Island, NY.

Judge James Bowne and family lived and died in Monmouth, New Jersey. I mention my Harden-Bowne connection, because for many years and in many pedigrees across the internet, John Harden is shown to be married in 1765 to Lydia Browne because someone "corrected" the Bowne name thinking it to be a type-o.

I have been told the parents of Anne Brown(e), wife of Robert Mckay, Sr., were James Brown and Honour Clayton. Ann is not listed on the Brown Family link on this website. Who were her parents? Thanks.
It was not until 1965 that "Mackay Family Researchers" knew of Ann Brown as wife of Robert Mackay Sr. Before this time people assumed Margaret was the only wife of Robert and mother of his children. As far as I know her maiden name has not been proven.

It was also the fact we were still looking for records for Robert Mackay just in Nottingham Meeting House area. We found out much later of Robert's life in Freehold, Monmouth Co. NJ. We were going on the path that Robert was born a Quaker. That we now was false with the records I have found in NJ. So all that work that Elwood Mckay did looking for Robert among Quaker records in DE, MD, PA etc...was a waste of time. Robert was not a Quaker until he removed to PA/MD.

James & Honour (Clayton) Brown did not have a daughter named Ann. His brother Wm. with wife Ann Mercer did have a daughter Ann. However among the Quaker Records of Nottingham MM, MD (then PA) this Ann married 1707 to Robert Dutton and 1736 John Underhill.

Researchers were looking in the wrong place and among the wrong church records for an Ann Brown who married Robert Mackay. Robert was still in NJ when her first marriage took place and he was not a Quaker.

Just a case when researchers can't find the facts they make the facts fit what they need.

Hey Dee Ann,

I descend from Moses. I have family tree dna account. What can I do to see if I match with stout researchers, using my account?
