I have been told the parents of Anne Brown(e), wife of Robert Mckay, Sr., were James Brown and Honour Clayton. Ann is not listed on the Brown Family link on this website. Who were her parents? Thanks.
She has compiled a book called "The Ancestry of Dr. Franklin B. McClung", in it she has named the Job/Jobe Journal as a source.I have been told the parents of Anne Brown(e), wife of Robert Mckay, Sr., were James Brown and Honour Clayton. I have some notes that indicate that Ann Brown's parents might be a William Browm (WFT est. 1632-1661 Death 1686-1746 of Nottingham MM, PA and Amm (DOB 1641-1664, DOD 1686-1705 Marriage around 1673-1705. Does this ring a bell? The books by Dobson dealing with early Scottish Quakers list Brown family members living in East Lothian, Scotland in the same location as my John Hampton. And he recorded that a John Brown did remove to East Jersey. Now were was a merchant by the name of John Brown in Freehold, when he died most of the people in town owed him monies: two people were John Mackay & James Leith. I think this is the family of Brown we need to find out more about.
Some might have arrived in the ship "Exchange" with the Hampton party. There were about five other ships which arrived to early NJ I want to find out more about. Most were Scottish Quakers, others Scottish Presbyterian like George Brown arrived in the boat "Henry & Frances". Our Ann Brown did not belong to this group.
Third group of Brown, living in New Jersey, were English Quakers. I descendant from a Abraham Brown, his daughter married by John Hampton. Since the records exist for this meeting house of Quakers, and our Ann Brown not among them, rather doubt she belongs to them.
The parents given for our Ann Brown as James & Honour (Clayton) Brown was circulated by Bill Jobe in his Jobe/Job Journal. I wrote him at the time, he ran the article. He informed me the information was just for "research purposes". What ever that meant. Now I believe one of his reader placed the information in the L.D.S. file. And there it will stay.
In any case, it is very unlikely Ann Brown livied in any other location than East Jersey, NJ. James Brown left England directly for NY and on to present day Cecil Co. MD. No stop overs in Freehold, NJ for this group of Browns.

At the moment I am having an issue with my linkage to Ancestry DNA Project. My computer system must be updated.Found on Ancestry DNA sample given by "Jerry112" his line
