I didn't know this until I spoke to a member of the Clarke County Historical Association while at the Burwell-Morgan Mill today but I had known that an old house in Cedarville, Va. burned down a few years ago.
This is not the famous Robert Mackay Jr. house that has the sign erected in it's honor. This particular house sat at the northwest corner of the US 522 & Cedarville Rd. intersection.
I knew the house had burned down a few years ago and only the chimney remains but I didn't know until today that it had been a McKay home, that is according to the individual I spoke with.
The question is, whose home was it? We know that none of Robert Mackay Sr.'s houses are still standing and I only know of the one house of Robert Mackay Jr. that sits on top of the hill at Cedarville a short distance away from the house that burned.
So, again whose house was it?
