My grandmother came to Canada under a type of work your passage to Canada when they were building Canada. Her father was Thomas Stewart Mackay. There was always a Thomas Stewart Mackay. Her name was Margaret, a brother names Thomas Stewart and another brother who also migrated to Canada and served in WWI by the name of James Henderson. They were from Leschestershire Scotland. Any clues?

They lived in Glasgow, working on my English heritage too. Sorry for the confusion.

"When they were building Canada" covers a lot of ground, considering we are still under construcion! lol Also, do you have any idea WHERE they settled? Canada is the second largest country in the world, and you will find genealogists in every province who are anxious to help, but they'll need the when and the where to get started. Hope this helps, and best of luck in your search!
