Dear Members and Friends of Bethel:
The Bethel Memorial, Inc. Annual Meeting and Traditional Service will be
held on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at 11:00 AM.
Winchester native, Michael M. Foreman, will be our speaker with his topic
being Resting in Peace in Winchester, Temporarily. He is the author of three
publications: Images of the Past, History of the Nurses Training School,
Winchester Memorial Hospital and Some Worthy Women. Mr. Foreman taught
government and history at Handley High School and English at James Wood High
School. He currently is a Shenandoah University adjunct instructor in political
science. He served as Clerk of the Winchester Circuit Court from 1975 to his
retirement in 2003 and has also served on the Winchester City Council. Some of
his civic endeavors include the Woltz-Winchester Foundation, Handley High School
Museum and Archive, Winchester Rotary Club, Frederick-Winchester Historical
Society and Mt. Hebron Cemetery Board of Managers. Mr. Foreman and his wife,
Veerle, reside in the City of Winchester, Virginia.
Our organist will be Peg Albritton, and our soloist will be Gerald "Chip"
Connelly.
The Reverend Karin MacPhail of Cunningham Chapel Parish will be the
officiant.
Our traditional covered dish picnic will immediately follow the service.
Rain or Shine, this will take place under the oaks. Please bring a lawn chair and
food to share.
Old Bethel restoration projects are continually ongoing. Please remember
our financial needs as you consider your tax-deductible contribution to Bethel.
In that regard, click on this link for a form for 2011-2012 dues and
contributions. We urge you to support Bethel and the role that it serves in the
community.
Our Christmas Lessons and Carols Service will be held on Sunday,
December 18, 2011, at 5:00 PM.
See you at the Meeting on August 28th!
Yours very truly,
(signature)
